This all takes place within the anchorage at Marianas Yacht Club. They will also learn about points of sail, safety afloat, knots and rules of the road. There will be some craft activities as well as “homework”
The course is geared for children aged 8 to 12. Older kids are welcome. Some of the kids are on their second or third time around.
The cost is $150 for MYC members and $250 for non-members. You may join MYC for $100 and then receive the member rate.
Students must have their own well-fitted life jacket (PFD), shoes to wear in the water, be able to swim a distance with a PFD and take it off and put it on in the water, and tread water with PFD for 10 minutes. They bring their own lunch and snacks and drinks, and change of clothes, hat, sunblock.
