If you haven’t been to Saggan Kotturan Chamoru, you need to get up to this magical place asap! Located at Ipao (or Ypao) Point, the center is just up the hill from the Hilton Hotel in Tumon before the roundabout loop to Tamuning. This point is a power center that overlooks all of Tumon, and is such a comforting place to be. The center features 8 houses that hold different aspects of cultural practices to include the gift shop, the museum of artifacts dating back thousands of years, a visual arts studio, a weaving and educational space, a seafaring and navigation center, a traditional performing arts center, and soon to open is the medicinal arts area. If you are looking for a unique way to relax into the Chamoru culture and find unique arts, crafts, and practices, this is the place. You can take a break and walk out to the point to enjoy the view, the breeze, and the grassy areas. Needless to say, I had a very lovely time at Saggan Kotturan Chamoru.
