This weekend not only did we have another awesome Creative Session where we painted, talked, laughed and painted some more, but I also decided to bring a Creative Session to my dear pregnant mama friend Amanda.
She’s been wanting to make it to a Session but hasn’t so far, and baby’s arrival is getting close, so with art supplies in hand and a crew of a few awesome ladies, we cleaned her house while one friend massaged her feet and the little girls put flowers in her hair.
Then we had some munchies to eat, and broke out the art supplies. The photo on the right is of Amanda’s artwork, which I adore! I think it is just so magical, vibrant, rich, and whole.
Her daughters and husband got in on the fun and with some earthy music playing, it turned into a family art & music session. It was so much fun, and gave me ideas for future Creative Sessions. What if we did more “sessions on the go” like these? What if we brought Creative Sessions into someone’s home, or office? Sounds like fun to me!
If you are or know a pregnant mama, I highly recommend having a mother blessing. It doesn’t need to be a surprise, and anyone can arrange it, even mama-to-be. A few good friends, good tea, feel-good music, munchies, some flowers & art supplies can go a loooong way. Forget the throw-away goodies and overabundance of plastic & commercial goods that you often see at baby showers. Quality time & creative inspiration are so much more fun, in my experience. 😉
INDEED!!!
