Guam now has two charter schools: Guahan Academy School, and iLearn Academy, and the governor recently signed a proclamation for charter schools week on Guam. As a part of the festivities, the schools held an art contest called “Young Picasso” that would award the winners art prizes as well as mentorship sessions with a local artist. Local artist mentors include Judy Flores, Monaeka Flores, and myself, Michelle Pier. The students created an array of beautiful and creative artworks, displayed at the exhibit and event held at the Hilton Hotel. Here are photos from the event:
