The Art of Shaping: Arrow Surfboards by Ken Pier

My dad, Ken Pier, shapes surfboards. It’s been many years since he’s made one, and he decided to get back to it, starting with one for himself. This is a whole other kind of art, and one I really respect. Shaping a surfboard by hand is, in my opinion, like trying to freehand draw a perfect circle.

He’s been surfing most of his life, and shaped surfboards since the late 60s. He created his own brand, “Arrow.”
