I love photography just about as much as I love painting. Over the years, I’ve gotten way more comfortable with being in photos and also taking self-portraits, especially as I’ve had to do so for my website and other projects requiring a photo and artist bio.
It is weird at first writing about yourself and taking photos of yourself, but it is part of both creativity AND marketing. You have to step out of your comfort zone, because that is where the magic happens.
In an art journaling project, we did weekly self-portraits, it could be drawn, photographed, painted, whatever. It was a great self-reflection tool and wow the transformations over time. How we all change!
This then inspired me to do “Self Portraits” as our next Creative Session theme at the cafe. Here are photos from my “self photoshoot” and then from our Self Portraits Creative Session:
LOVE the self-portraits! And you have such a cute little-closed-mouth smile but what I REALLY LOVE are your big wide smiles! It’s like you’re letting all the LIGHT radiate out of you!! 🙂
Thanks Kate, I’ll smile to that!
