MICHELLE PIER- GUAM ARTIST- ART FOR SALE

BACKGROUND

Hafa adai! My name is Michelle Pier, and I’m a mostly self-taught artist and entrepreneur. Born and raised on Guam (as were my parents and one of my grandparents), with a mix of indigenous Chamorro lineage, as well as European and Native American lineage. Also now raised my two children on the island. Over the past 17 years, I’ve exhibited and sold hundreds of original acrylic paintings locally on Guam and shipped abroad.  I share my love for my island with the world through my artwork, creative projects, events, and adventures. You can find and follow me on Instagram, where I post about “my life as a Guam artist.”

ARTWORK INSPIRATION

Nature is my biggest inspiration. Vivid colors, textures, and metallics are some of the key features you’ll notice in my artwork. Abstract and expressionism styles as well as some scenic landscapes, florals, seascapes, and highlights from Guam’s island culture are some of my favorites. My work is full of life and light, intended to brighten up any home or office space. The brush strokes show movement and energy flow, and dynamic reflections from the metallic paints catch your eye from across the room.

WHAT I OFFER

Along with my original artwork, I also offer prints and a variety of merch with my art on it. I am open to commission projects, whether as a canvas painting, mural, wedding dress, statue, or other unique project. I have done live art events, led numerous painting classes, and have directed festivals and creative programs. Some of you may remember the Luna Festival that I ran for 7 years, as well as the Holiday Craft Fairs at Jeff’s Pirates’ Cove for 9 years. I created the industrial Sirena sculpture and led the art exhibit for the Electric Island Festival one year, and was also the creative director for Guam’s first Holi Festival of Colors.

In more recent years, I created and ran the Creative Canvas Camp for teens as well as the 100 Strong Hearts, Strong Minds free book program for kids and teens in 2023. In 2024, I organized and collaborated with Puerto Rican artists on a mural in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Currently, I am creating original art, including commission paintings, murals, etc. Feel free to reach out to purchase available artworks, to commission an artwork, or to hire me for your project or event.
