There’s a new creative destination in Tumon, and it’s already bringing together local artists, makers, entrepreneurs, and community members in an exciting way.
Located at Golden Plaza on Fujita Road, Puti’on Place: Local Market & Craft Bar recently celebrated its grand opening, transforming a familiar former antique shop into a vibrant new home for local artists, makers, workshops, and community connection.
From the moment you walk through the doors, it’s clear that Puti’on Place is more than just a shop.
Part artisan market, part creative gathering space, and part workshop venue, it offers visitors a chance to discover local talent while supporting Guam-based small businesses. The aesthetic is so cozy, everything is DIY, colorful, and surrounded by plants and creations!
They even have a walk-in chiller where they sell fresh local produce, handmade leis, eggs and more .
Book a workshop, score some meaningful local gifts, and enjoy the good vibes. You won’t be disappointed!
A Space Built Around Local Creativity
Puti’on Place was created to showcase Guam’s artists, makers, and entrepreneurs in a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Inside, visitors will find a growing collection of:
- Original artwork
- Handmade jewelry
- Locally crafted gifts
- Artisan goods
- Home décor
- Self-care products
- Guam-inspired merchandise
- Specialty food and lifestyle items
The space feels warm and inviting, with thoughtfully designed displays, books, plants, handmade décor, and products that encourage visitors to slow down and explore.
Longtime Guam residents may recognize the location as the former home of a beloved antique shop. Rather than completely transforming the space, many of the antique furnishings, decorative pieces, and architectural details have been thoughtfully incorporated into Puti’on Place’s new identity. The result is a space that feels layered, lived-in, and full of character, blending old and new in a way that encourages exploration.
One of the first things visitors will notice is the large community bookshelf that stretches across part of the space, giving it a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. There are little surprises tucked throughout the shop, including a hidden door that adds an extra sense of discovery for first-time visitors.
Unlike larger retail stores, every item has a story and a local connection behind it.
Supporting Guam’s Artists & Makers
One of the most exciting things about Puti’on Place is the variety of local vendors represented throughout the shop.
From artists and photographers to jewelry makers and artisans, the space gives visitors an opportunity to discover products created right here on Guam. It’s also a reminder of just how much talent exists within our local community.
For shoppers, that means finding unique gifts and one-of-a-kind items. For makers, it provides a new platform to share their work and connect with customers in a meaningful way.
As the shop continues to grow, visitors can expect to see even more local artists, makers, and small businesses represented throughout the space.
Creative Indeed Joins the Puti’on Place Family
I’m especially excited to share that Creative Indeed Art Studio is one of the featured artist vendors inside the shop.
Visitors can currently find a selection of my work available through the Puti’on Place gift shop, including:
- Original artwork
- Fine art prints
- Guam-inspired designs
- Small gifts
- Creative merchandise
As a local artist, I’m grateful to be part of a space that actively supports Guam’s creative community. Puti’on Place brings together a diverse mix of artists, makers, and small businesses, and I’m honored to have Creative Indeed represented alongside them.
I’ll also be updating this post soon with a full list of participating artists, makers, and vendors currently featured in the space.
More Than a Market
While shopping is a big part of the experience, Puti’on Place offers several features that make it feel different from a traditional gift shop.
A walk-in refrigerator room stocked with fresh flower leis, local produce, and farm-fresh eggs gives visitors another way to support local growers and small businesses. It’s an unexpected addition that reflects the space’s focus on community and locally sourced products.
The shop is also connected to neighboring Bistro El Camino through a convenient ordering window, allowing visitors to order food and drinks without ever leaving the space. Whether you’re browsing local art, shopping for gifts, or meeting friends, it’s easy to settle in and stay awhile.
As the space continues to evolve, plans include workshops, creative events, artist showcases, and other opportunities for the community to gather, learn, and connect.
